We’re not exaggerating when we say that 2022 has been the year of the e-bike. So many new models hit the market, making it even more fun to shop for an e-bike. As self-confessed bike lovers, we had to try them all, from commuter to all-terrain, and after doing so, we’re super excited to share our findings with you. Now, we focused on the most functional and dynamic models to make sure that we weren’t leaving anything out and we’ve highlighted the best of the best.Let’s get started.

Which E-Bike Should You Buy

Gocycle G4

We’re genuinely in love with this bike because of its high-tech design andcapacity. It’s super lightweight thanks to carbon fiber components and since it’s afolding e-bike it’s incredibly convenient for storing or transportation. It can be folded down completely in just 10 seconds, making it ideal for delivery drivers with limited storage. It’s so lightweight that even a child can carry it up and down the stairs.

Another stand-out aspect of its design is its one-of-a-kind matte black color. This finish gives it an almost futuristic vibe and it’ll definitely turn heads. Truth be told, it looks kind of like a BMX bike in some ways but with a higher seat. The steel handlebar looks terrific and it’s equipped with front and rear suspension.

The range is 50 miles on one charge, which is awesome but it takes three and a half hours to charge fully. The only downside to this e-bikeis the price. Because it’s a premium model, the price is also high but we wouldn’t say it’s overpriced because the quality of the components and overall characteristics are just amazing, so you really do get what you pay for.

Plus, Gocycle is a reputable brand that is constantly making its bikes better with each passing year. But if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly model, we have something for you as well.

Eahora Azarias

Eahora Azarias offers good performance for city riders. The battery is quite promising and lets you cover a distance of over 55 miles. This model is somewhat reminiscent of motocross, as the handlebar is quite wide, and it’s equipped with a comfy leather seat and a multi-functional display for your convenience. The bike rack is sturdy and allows you to carry massive packages with ease. We highly recommend this bike if you fancy this kind of design and we would definitely advise delivery workers to try it out.

E-bike Breeze

This bike has enough power for on and off-road applications. The New York City-based company behind it positions this model as an ideal candidate for makingdeliveries but it’spowerful enough to tackleany goal. The battery life is quite impressive as well, and you can also swap the battery out for a fresh one if you like. It’s also worth noting that this bike is more than capable of going uphill, flat, or downhill. The mud guard is also there to protect you in rainy weather and theheadlamp is superb for dark conditions as well. Now, it needs to be said that if you rent this bike via Whizz it’ll comeequipped with a U-lock, a basket, and a phone holder to boot. We’ll also take care of maintenance and fix it in 30 minutes if anything happens to it.

If you live in New York, you can test the bike out at our Manhattan location.

Aventon Solterra

This is a pretty and solid e-bike with mostly positive reviews except for the squeaky brakes. This model belongs to the hybrid bike category and you can cycle in it for over 40 miles without pedal assistance. In our opinion, the most striking option in the line-up is in the black colorway. This designmakes this bike ideal for commuting, fitness, or simply cruising.

Eahora XC100

If you’re looking for an affordable e-mountain bike, this one fits the bill. It comes with a motor that allows you to ride over 65 miles and you can even charge your smartphone in it as well. This is an all-terrain bike, with key components that are made by such reputable brands as Shimano and Samsung.

The display comes with cruise control for more effortless and comfortable riding, while its full-suspension set up features with mechanical disc brakes for added safety and functionality.

Propella Mini

This is a super cool single-speed tiny bike with disc brakes from Shimano, a sturdy frame, and so much more. It’s also one of the most stylish mini bikes out there and there’s a taller version with the same design but resembles more of a fixed-gear. These are brand new models and we highly recommend checking them out.

Himiway Cruiser

If you like fat tires, then the Himiway Cruiser is probably the best model for your needs. It is an all-terrain model that can easily hit the snow, sand, and rocks without a hitch. It’s one of the biggest models on our list in terms of size and it’s amazing for whenyou want to ride to your favorite surfing spot or forest trail.

The distance is also pretty good and it’s got a pretty good rack behind it. The only downside is that this bike can be an acquired taste for some and not everyone is going to want a bulky bike. Overall it’s a pretty nice model but not one that you get as a convenient daily rider.

Radrunner 2

This model stands out among moped-style e-bikes. It’s great for long-distance trips and it guarantees safety, nice control, and a capacious rack to hold all those supplies you’ll be delivering. There is only one flaw and that is its weight and massive frame. However, the comfy leather seats, imposing size, and additional handlebar for children make it a great family bike.

It’sdefinitely multi-functional andwould look good on any Burning Man track, granted you’re willing to customize it and add a few unconventional design elements.

SONDORS Ingenious Move

Thispopular urban e-bike crossover is available in two models: white and black. It’s a folding e-bike that's easy to transport and store when you need to tuck it away in a small apartment. Of course, SONDORS is a well-known and trusted company that makes premium bikes and the Smart Step is the cheapest model in the line-up. It’s a classy crossover that is well-done and easy to ride. Even though it looks elegant, the speed range is 40 mph and the battery allows you to cover a large distance on one charge.

Its tires are suitable for any surface so it’s a cool model for delivery drivers who need to be agile and versatile. We recommend checking out the SONDORS website for a cool deep-dive into this fascinating company. They’re really passionate about they do and they’re really good at it, too. It’s probably the best folding e-bike among regular-size models and it will satisfy any discerning customer.

Electric Bike Co. Model S

You may be interested in finding acruiser e-bike as well, so let’s review this model. It features a step-through frame, hydraulic brakes, and a nice battery. There are many ways to customize this bike to make it more retro-looking or modern according to your tastes.

This bike is definitely well-designed and customized for a comfortable ride. The frame is wavy and nice-looking, which is why this model is so popular among female riders. Also, there is a basket in the front so it’s convenient for shopping or making deliveries around down.

Alpine Hawk EVO by Bulls

Finally, we’re going to talk about the best road bike release of this year which stands out for features such as allowing you toremove the battery and pedal it like a normal bike when you want to. It’s nice for climbing uphill and riding down as well and if you like this type of handle bar, you’ll definitely enjoy this bike. We were also super impressed at how silent it is.

What’s more, the Alpine Hawk comes with hydraulic brakes and many people with a road-racing background appreciate its incredible stopping power. You’ll find that it’s also very responsive and super fast on its own; in fact you can get close to a 20 mile per hour top speed with this bike. The seat is narrow and pretty comfortable for relatively long rides and it’s super comfortable for tall people.

Specialized Turbo Vado

This is a four-power commuter bike that is well-loved for its unique geometry. It’s an incredibly well-designed and well-functional e-bike with a motor and and battery system that work seamlessly. It perfectly matches the riders' pedaling so you can ride over relatively long distances without feeling tired. It’s a lot of fun to ride for those who like traditional bikes.

There are many great usesfor it as well, like carrying luggage or just riding on your own. The hydraulic brakes work really well while the control app allows you to tune the motor and track your ride history through the responsive display.

Specialized Turbo Vado works nicely as well.

Fiido X

In addition to its futuristic design, this bike features cutting-edge components that make this model one of the most superior folding e-bikes on the market. It’s also very easy to charge and fold. The manufacturer states the distance range is above average and we can attest to that. We especially appreciate the buttons behind the seat as they make controlling the bike even easier.

For those of you who like small tires, the Fiido X might be super appealing. One of the greatest features is that the battery is under the seat so the frame looks smaller than usual.

Woom Up 5 and 6

We couldn’t leave the kiddos out, so we’re sharing the Woom Up; a bike that’s created specifically for children and has so much to offer.First, it’s availablefor two age groups, 7–11 and 11–14 years old. It’s incredibly responsive with full-suspension, and it comes withan app that displays the rider's mileage and battery level. It handles nicely and can withstand an aggressive ride as well as a gentle one. The battery life is pretty good but it depends on the terrain. Overall, it’s a pretty nice bike for kids and the best part is that it actually looks cool.

EB5 Pro Swagtron

This may be the cheapest e-bike on our list but it’s definitely worth looking at. It wasn’t created for extreme terrain and long distances but it’s pretty responsive and compact. We also really love the price; it comes in at less than $1000 which is amazing considering what you get. Technically it’s a one-speed folding bike with a max speed of 15 mph but hey, it wasn’t created for racing. By the way, you don’t need to pedal at all with this one!

Charge XC

This model is one of those bikes that you can take absolutely anywhere; it’s nice for hauling and cruising. The motor is reliable and the frame is strong enough for overweight rides, plus the tires are puncture-resistant.

Get on this bike if you want a classy model for various uses. It’s a great commuter e-bike and you can push the pedal hard when you need to as well. Mostly, we appreciate the simplicity and reliability of this bike, which is why we put it on our list.

VanMoof S3

This bike looks like it came from a noir movie but it's powered by a nice motor and has aerodynamic characteristics. Aside from the bike’s impressive technical capacity, the VanMoof brand has this unique hunter team who can help locate the bike in case of theft. How cool is that? And if they fail, you will get the same bike for free. The bike looks neat and is equipped with a display and everything you need for for city riding.

Conclusion

As you can see, thenew electric bikes for 2022 are pretty diverse. We did a phenomenal job of reviewing these if we say so ourselves, and we’ve got a model for everyone, whether you’re looking for the most comfortable, versatile, or customizable option. Now it’s up to you to test the bike’s performances. One thing is for certain: city commuting is often faster than most people believe. So do not hesitate to choose an e-bike that suits your needs, whether that means looking out for features like turbo mode or you’re looking for a simple cruising bike.As you can see, we also reviewed both cheap and expensive e-bikes to make sure there’s something for everyone.

Now, different models are specific to their respective environments but they are very easy to use. It's incredible how well-engineered these bikes are and they are sometimes even outfitted with Bosch motors. It’s hard to say which one is the most powerful because it depends on the purpose but it was a total delight to review each and every one of these e-bikes for you and hopefully, you found this guide most helpful.

Rather than focusing on the price, look at what you actually like. Higher prices mean more expensive components but all the models are really interesting and were produced by reputable companies.

Each bike is much faster than you might think, believe us,and you’re welcome to take a test drive at our Manhattan location. Higher speeds are available but please drive carefully and wear a helmet. We want you to come back after all.
